In support of IRCAM's research and creation missions, the educational program seeks to shed light on the current and future meaning of the interactions among the arts, sciences, and technology as well as sharing its models of knowledge, know-how, and innovations with the widest possible audience.

This mission of transmission is thought of as practical training for creation, an education focused on the explanation and formalization of experiences and experimentation. Cutting-edge research and the dissemination of innovation, internationally renowned curricula, and the democratization of artistic practices are all part of the institute's educational activities.

Every year, several different educational programs are offered at Ircam or outside the institute to music professionals, artists and researchers, university, high school, and conservatory students. The ManiFeste Festival's academy for emerging artists allows composers and performers to be trained in a multidisciplinary environment, conducive to professional exchanges.

These educational activities rely also on the resources of our vast documentary center including a multimedia library open to the public as well as online encyclopaedic hypermedia databases.
