ManiFeste-2026 Festival Academy
Manifesto for musical creation and the performing arts, a manifesto for artistic forms that are experimental, pioneering, and also popular, ManiFeste is Paris’s spring festival. It brings music into dialogue with other disciplines such as theater, dance, digital arts, and visual arts.
Alongside the festival, the ManiFeste Academy welcomes around one hundred composers, performers, and auditors from across the globe each year. Participants benefit from a unique artistic and technological environment, as well as significant public exposure through workshop presentations.
In 2026, the Academy will host:
- Composer Sivan Eldar for a solo and electronic workshop based on texts by Laura Vazquez, featuring Ensemble intercontemporain soloists Renaud Déjardin, Valeria Kafelnikov, and Lucas Ounissi
- Belgian composer and filmmaker Thierry De Mey for an In Situ workshop devoted to composing for dance films he created in collaboration with choreographers such as Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Michèle Anne De Mey, and William Forsythe, with the Belgian collective BL!NDMAN
- Italian composer Mauro Lanza for an In Situ workshop devoted to electronic composition, in collaboration with IRCAM’s teams
- French conductor Pierre Bleuse and the musicians of the Ensemble intercontemporain, who will mentor the young performers of the ULYSSES Ensemble and the NEXT Ensemble from the Conservatoire de Paris in preparing an ambitious program centered on Fado Errático by Stefano Gervasoni.
Over the course of two weeks, the Academy also offers master classes and composition courses led by invited composers and artists, by those presenting new works at the ManiFeste 2026 festival, and by composers in artistic residency at IRCAM.
The program is further enriched by presentations from researchers of the STMS Joint Research Unit (CNRS, Sorbonne University, Ministry of Culture, and IRCAM), as well as by hackathon sessions that draw on the latest innovations developed in IRCAM’s studios.
Participants, whether active or auditing, are invited to:
- attend rehearsals of composition workshops and interpretation master classes
- follow courses led by guest composers, artists, and musicians
- access the outstanding resources from IRCAM’s multimedia library
- attend all Academy workshop presentations and master classes free of charge
- enjoy special ticket rates for the ManiFeste 2026 concerts taking place from June 1—27, 2026 in Paris, Créteil, and Enghien-les-Bains
The 14th edition of the festival is supported by key partners in culture and higher education, including the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, the Council on International Educational Exchange (U.S. universities), the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière, the Ensemble intercontemporain (associate ensemble of the Academy), and the ULYSSES Platform, co-funded by the European Union.
