ManiFeste-2023, the Academy

Edit

The Festival Academy. Monday, June 19-Saturday, July 1, 2023
Edit

ManiFeste, the IRCAM multidisciplinary festival and academy, is a gathering of creative artists in Paris, combining music with other disciplines: theater, dance, digital arts, and visual arts.

The academy welcomes and trains many young composers, performers, and listeners from all over the world to benefit from our large-scale artistic and technological environment and a large public audience during the workshops.

The Academy will provide an opportunity for students, whether active or auditors, to:

  • to attend rehearsals of composition workshops and performance master classes
  • to follow the courses of the composers, artists, musicians and invited musicians
  • to access the exceptional documentary collection of the IRCAM library
  • to attend all the academy workshops and master classes free of charge
  • to benefit from special rates for ManiFeste-2022 festival concerts

In 2023, the academy is pleased to invite the German composer Isabel Mundry, patron of the second edition of the ÉLAN prize, in partnership with the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France, the Italian composer Francesco Filidei for a chamber music workshop with the soloists from the Ensemble intercontemporain, the Spanish composer Núria Giménez-Comas and the French director Anne Monfort for an In Vivo Théâtre workshop that builds relationships between the African continent and France, the French singer and teacher Valérie Philippin who will lead a workshop on voice and electronic improvisation, and the Taiwanese conductor Lin Liao who will lead the ULYSSES Ensemble with the participation and complicity of musicians from the Ensemble intercontemporain.

The eleventh edition of the academy is based on close relationships with the following cultural and educational institutions: the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique de Paris, the Council on International Educational Exchange (American universities), the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière, the Ensemble intercontemporain, permanent associate ensemble, the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France, the Pôle supérieur d'enseignement artistique Aubervilliers - La Courneuve - Seine-Saint-Denis Ile-de-France called "Pôle Sup'93", the Studio Théâtre de Vitry, the T2G-Théâtre de Gennevilliers, the ULYSSES network, supported by the European Union's Creative Europe program.
