Megumi Okuda

Megumi Okuda (Japan, b. 1993) first studied singing. She then studied composition at the National University of Music in Bucharest with Dan Dediu and Doina Rotaru, and at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar with Michael Obst. In 2017, she was admitted to the Cnsmdp in the composition class of Frédéric Durieux and then Gérard Pesson; she also followed the classes on new technologies with Yan Maresz and Luis Naón.

Her music explores different expressive directions on recurring themes such as personification / anthropomorphism, memories or imaginary stories. It is influenced by arte povera and camp forms of expression.
