Matteo Gualandi

Matteo Gualandi (Italy, b. 1995) began his composition studies in his native city with Daniele Bravi. 

In 2015 he began his studies at the Haute École de musique de Genève, in the class of Pascal Dusapin, Michael Jarrell, and Luis Naón. In 2020, he earned his Master’s degree from this school. In 2018-19 he had a scholarship to study in Munich's Hochschule für Musik under Isabel Mundry. He worked with ensembles such as the Ensemble intercontemporain, Klangforum Wien, Ukho ensemble.

His compositions are based upon a reflection on instruments and their technique, the fabric of sound, and the poetic relationships between them.
