Sergio Núñez Meneses
Sergio Núñez Meneses (Chili, 1989) studied composition at the University of Chili. He also took classes at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and at the Institute for Creativity, Arts and Technology in the United States with a scholarship from the University of Chili.
He then studied under Tom Mays and Daniel D’Adamo at the Académie supérieure de musique de Strasbourg/HEAR, receiving his Master’s degree in electroacoustic creation and interpretation. He followed IRCAM’s Cursus course as a part of his first year of a Master’s degree in mixed music at the Haute école de musique de Genève.
Sergio is interested in the design and development of motion capture systems and their use in instrumental music. He uses the physical gestures of performers to transform their bodies in a new interface for musical expressivity.
