Omer Barash

Omer Barash’s (Israel, b. 1995) main compositional interests include the exploration of movement and gesture in music. His work is often inspired by Hebrew texts and traditions and the soundscapes that surround him. Barash’s musical education includes studies at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, McGill University, and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts, with teachers such as Yinam Leef, Ari Ben-Shabetai, Philippe Leroux, and Karlheinz Essl. He also had the pleasure to learn from close collaborations with ensembles such as Meitar (Israel), Paramirabo (Canada), and Modern (Germany), and musicians such as Guy Braunstein, Keren Motseri, and Brittany Rae.
