Director
It was at the Comédie de Reims, at the Théâtre Granit in Belfort, and at the Channel de Calais that Ludovic Lagarde took his first steps as a director. Since 1993, he has adapted and directed several novels and texts by Olivier Cadiot. He began his journey at the opera alongside Christophe Rousset, with the staging of works by Lully, Charpentier, and Desmarets from 2001 to 2006. In 2008, he directed Roméo et Juliette by Pascal Dusapin. Ludovic Lagarde has been at the head of the Comédie de Reims since 2009. In 2012, he presented Büchner’s entire theatrical oeuvre, later performed at the Théâtre de la Ville. He premiered Lear is in Town based on Shakespeare during the Festival d’Avignon in 2013. In 2014, he directed Quai ouest by Koltès with a Greek cast at the Greek National Theater in Athens.
