Nicole Birmann Bloom

Nicole Birmann Bloom has been a Program Officer, Performing Arts, at the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in the United States since the late 1990s. Based in New York, she takes care of the promotion and development of projects by artists and companies in theatre, dance, contemporary circus, puppetry and street arts in the United States territories, the organization of curatorial trips and multiple meetings, fostering a rich dialogue between the two countries. She also coordinates two bilateral programs of the FACE Foundation: FUSED (French U.S. Exchange in Dance) and FACE Contemporary Theater which, through the allocation of grants, allow artists to make themselves known in either country.
After training in contemporary dance in France (Paris) and the United States (New York), Nicole Birmann Bloom worked in the public and private sectors, more specifically in international relations. She joined the cultural department in 1995.
She also received distinctions: Chevalière dans l'ordre des Arts et Lettres (2010) and Shining Star Award from Performance Space 122 (2016) for her work as an Art Administrator.
