A year ago, Ircam signed an ambitious cultural cooperation agreement with the Taiwan C-Lab to contribute to the establishment and development of the Taiwan Sound Lab. Located in the heart of Taipei, the C-Lab is one of the most innovative and important artistic projects to be carried out in the Asian capital in recent years. Our video report takes you behind the scenes of the creation of the C-Lab, meeting the project's initiators in a changing city and the Taiwanese artists that you will discover soon in Paris!
Through December 20, IRCAM participates in the annual C-Lab festival by presenting major works from its electronic repertoire: Unsuk Chin, Michael Jarrell, and Philippe Manoury, performed for the first time by musicians and computer music designers from Taiwan. The next events are online Forum Workshops on two of IRCAM’s areas of expertise: "music and improvisation" and "sound spatialization and virtual reality".
