To mark UNESCO's International World Children's Day, IRCAM is throwing open the doors of creativity to children and their families, as well as to professionals working in the fields of education and childhood.
Today, the use of digital technology by children raises many questions. At the same time, it can be a formidable source of inventiveness, stimulating artistic and cultural awakening and education from an early age. Digital technology is not necessarily limited to screens, as there are many interactive devices that sharpen the sensory-motor skills, imagination, and creativity of young people, while at the same time nurturing their critical thinking skills.
For these two days, IRCAM is offering a series of conferences, discussions, and workshops designed to explore the creative uses of digital technology, and making the tools developed by its research teams, in partnership with other researchers, creators and practitioners, available to all.
Organized by the STMS laboratory's Interaction Sound Music Movement and Sound Analysis and Synthesis teams, and IRCAM's Cultural Action department:
Moderator Marion Voillot
Frédéric Bevilacqua research director and head of the STMS joint laboratory's Sound Music Motion Interaction team at IRCAM
Nicolas Obin lecturer at Sorbonne University's Faculty of Science and Engineering and researcher in the Sound Analysis and Synthesis team at IRCAM's STMS joint laboratory
With the support of Aline Foriel-Destezet
Intended as a series of interactive exchanges, this afternoon is an opportunity for education professionals to discover a series of applied research projects that explore the potential of digital technology to develop children's learning, creativity, and imagination through a multi-sensory approach: listening, touching, and meditating on sound will be at the heart of our discussions.
