See - listen: this desire for an analogy between audio and visual, the long-cherished dream of synaesthesia, is at the heart of IRCAM Live. The immersive stage designed by José Miguel Fernandez et Raphaël Foulon, and the performance by Eric Raynaud (stage name Fraction) are the result of their artistic research residencies, both carried out in the laboratories at IRCAM in Paris and at the SAT - Société des arts technologiques de Montréal. Aaron Einbond, winner of the European STARTS Residencies program, imagines a world-piano, playing 3D electronics and the very space of the concert hall. The spectator is virtually immersed in the heart of the instrument as "the medium has become the message".
