Objectives

Upon completion of this training program, participants will have acquired an ensemble of theoretical and practical notions for the conception and realization in Max of a system of sonification of data acquired via programmable interfaces (Arduino, R-IoT) connected to motion and physiological sensors.

Prerequisites


Good understanding of digital signal processing;
Good understanding of programming in Max or successful completion of the course: Max Initiation.

Assessment

A certificate at the end of the program is given to each participant with the results of the exam.

MorningAperçu des différents types de capteurs, d’interfaces, et des fournisseurs de matériel. Le cas particulier du sans fil ;
Travaux pratiques : prendre en main les environnements de programmation Arduino et Energia.
AfternoonHands-on exercises: recuperate, process, route, and map the data acquired in a sonification system made in Max.

MorningIntroduction to Max, in particular to objects and libraries that can interface with Arduino and R-IoT;
Hands-on exercises: make Max communicate with the Arduino and R-IoT interfaces.
AfternoonTravaux pratiques : récupérer, traiter, router et mapper des données acquises dans un système de sonification réalisé en Max.

MorningHands-on exercises: create a sonification system: physiological capture (heart beats, muscular activity) via sensors connected to the R-IoT interface, recuperation of data and sonification in Max.
AfternoonTechnical description of examples of advanced use of motion capture and gesture recognition in a sonification project and performance art.
