Bierton Tom

Tom Bierton (France, 1991) studied music at the Conservatoire d'Annecy; first saxophone and then composition with Jean-Pascal Chaigne. After receiving his diploma in saxophone and chamber music, he went on to the Conservatoire de Paris where he studied composition in Gérard Pesson’s class. He followed IRCAM’s Cursus program as the first year of his Master’s degree.

Tom’s music is performed in France and he works on a regular basis with the students at the PESM in Dijon where several of his pieces have premiered. He likes to work on multidisciplinary projects and has worked with dance, circus, animation, sculpture, and even comics. Inspired by jazz and its hybridizations with metal and electronic music, he is searching more and more for a creation with a balance between contemporary and pop music.
