Tak-Cheung Hui

Tak-Cheung Hui (Hong Kong, 1983) began his musical studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and then at the Amsterdam conservatory. He is currently a doctoral student at Boston University Center for New Music under Joshua Fineberg.

Over the course of his career, Tak-Cheung has been awarded numerous prizes (Leibniz Harmonien International Competition, the 2014 Atlas Ensemble Composition Competition). He was also the winner of the Asia Culture Center composition award in 2016. Tak-Cheung works with a range of ensembles notably the 10/10 Ensemble, Nieuw Ensemble in Amsterdam, Looptail, and mdi ensemble. His music has been performed at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Muziekgebouw aan't IJ, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, and at the au Composit Festival.
