Murcof (Fernando Corona)

Born in Tijuana (Mexico), Fernando Corona was a member of the electro collective Nortec under the alias Terrestre for a time, before making a name for himself as Murcof. His music is electronic, uncluttered, minimalist. Built on abstract and sometimes complex electronic percussion, it lies at the crossroads of influences from traditional written music (modern classical music, musique concrète, sacred minimalism, micropolyphony, baroque music, etc.), ambient, drones, Berlin School synths, ethnic music and free improvisation. His rhythms are derived from minimalist techno, dub, glitch, industrial music and IDM.

Since 2016, Murcof has also been performing as a duo with French pianist Vanessa Wagner.
