Luciano Leite Barbosa (Brazil, 1982) is a composer fascinated by computer-assisted composition and musical models. Before moving to Boston, he studied acoustic and electro-acoustic composition in Brazil UniRio. His music has been performed in several concerts and festivals by groups such as the Nieuw Ensemble, Les Cris de Paris, Meitar, JACK Quartet, and the ensemble Dal Niente. Luciano won the Rencontres de musique nouvelle 2013, a program for Brazilian composers by the Nieuw Ensemble, and the Funarte Prize Funarte de Composição Clássica 2016. Luciano studied composition with Joshua Fineberg at Boston University where he is currently a doctoral student in composition and music theory. His music is published online by Babel Scores.
