Après une carrière dans l'industrie des télécoms qui m'a donnée l'opportunité de travailler et de vivre pendant une quinzaine d'années en Afrique, puis en Amérique latine, je suis rentré à Paris avec l'envie de renouer avec un vieux rêve : travailler dans le traitement du signal musical.

Après une nécessaire remise à niveau technique grâce au master ATIAM (le master Acoustique, Traitement du Signal et Informatique appliqués à la Musique), j'ai eu l'opportunité de réaliser un stage en 2016 au sein de l'équipe Analyse et synthèse des sons à l'Ircam, pendant lequel j'ai travaillé sur des problématiques de séparations de sources vocales par NMF.

J'ai ensuite démarré en 2017 une thèse CIFRE, partenariat entre la Sacem (la Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique) et l'équipe MIR (Music Information Retrieval), toujours au sein de l'équipe Analyse et synthèse des sons de l'Ircam. Cette thèse, dont le sujet porte sur la reconnaissance d'œuvres musicales, m'a amené à m'intéresser de près aux réseaux de neurones récurrents, que nous appliquons ici aux séries temporelles audio : nous cherchons à montrer que des architectures de ce type peuvent être entrainées sur un large corpus audio pour reconnaitre par la suite deux instrumentations différentes d'une même œuvre musicale.
