Elzbieta Sikora

Composer (b. 1943)
Polish composer Elzbieta Sikora has lived in Paris since 1981. She studied composition in Warsaw with Tadeus Baird and Zbigniew Rudzinski. In Paris, she studied electroacoustic music with Pierre Schaeffer and François Bayle, composition and analysis with Betsy Jolas. She is the co-founder, alongside Wojciech Michniewski and Krzysztof Knittel of the composers’ group KEW in 1973. Sikora followed computer music classes in Paris at IRCAM and in the United States at CCRMA at Stanford. Her catalogue contains over 30 major works including two operas, three ballets, symphonic works, chamber music, electroacoustic and mixed music pieces.
