Bertrand Plé

Bertrand Plé (France, 1986) became a composer via contemporary music. He was first a performer; Bertrand was a trumpet player in several jazz groups before he started to arrange and write music. He studied jazz, harmony, and composition at the conservatory in Lyon while studying at université Lyon 2. Bertrand learned his trade from Robert Pascal and then Philippe Hurel at the CNSMD de Lyon. His catalogue counts over 30 works, all share the same methodology: sharing thoughts with performers before creating the compositional material. He designs his writing technique based on the homogenization of musical parameters leaving him fertile ground for creation.
