Composer (b. 1976)
Composer, guitarist, and director trained at the Conservatoire de Paris, Benjamin Dupé is dedicated to musical creation: writing for instruments, voice, and electroacoustic; improvisation; technological systems…. His works have been performed in contemporary music festivals, on the stage—operatic and not—in public spaces. His works include Comme je l’entends (on the perception of contemporary music by the profane), Fantôme, un léger roulement, et sur la peau tendue qu’est notre tympan (an immersive concert of an ensemble of mechanical instruments), Il se trouve que les oreilles n’ont pas de paupières (musical theater based on the text La Haine de la musique by Pascal Quignard), Du chœur à l’ouvrage (opera for children’s voices, libretto by Marie Desplechin).
