Andrew Gerzso joined IRCAM in 1977 where he held a number of senior positions in the fields of scientific research, musical research, and creation.
In 1993, he created the IRCAM Forum and in 2000 the Pôle Spectacle (a multidisciplinary project focusing on the diffusion of technologies for the performing arts).
In addition to his post as director of the department of Education and Cultural Action from 2012 to 2017, he has coordinated the European project Ulysses aimed at the creation and dissemination of works by young composers since 2012. Gerzso is an expert for European H2020 scientific projects.
From 1980 to 1995, he worked closely with Pierre Boulez at the Collège de France and, until 2011, on the electroacoustic elements of Répons (1981-2011), Dialogue de l'ombre double (1985), ...explosante-fixe... (1991-1995) and Anthèmes 2 (1997).
His works are published in various collective works and reviews such as La Recherche, Pour la Science, Scientific æ, Leonardo, Contemporary Music Review and the Cahiers ENS Louis-Lumière.
