Ressources: IRCAM’s New Documentation Portal on Contemporary Music

IRCAM’s Documentation Centre proudly unveils Ressources, its new portal centralising the Institute's extensive physical and digital holdings on musical creation from 1950 to today.

This innovative platform offers seamless access to a vast array of materials, both online and on-site at IRCAM’s multimedia library. Equipped with a powerful search engine, Ressources enables users to explore:

  • Digital content from IRCAM’s diverse databases:
    • An encyclopaedia of contemporary music composers
    • Analyses of works from IRCAM’s repertoire
    • Audiovisual archives (concerts, thesis defences, courses, symposia)
    • Scientific articles from the Sciences et Technologies de la Musique et du Son laboratory (IRCAM, Ministry of Culture, Sorbonne University, CNRS)
    • Documentation on electronic works created at IRCAM, promoting their dissemination and reuse
  • The availability and reservation of physical media from the library, including books, scores, CDs, vinyl records, and programme notes

With the support of the Centre National de la Musique, a large-scale translation campaign is underway to make this encyclopaedic database accessible to a global audience. Ressources has quickly become IRCAM’s most consulted platform, with over 740,000 pages viewed annually.

Boasting over 111,000 references, the portal includes
