Voix et électronique
The combination of voice and electronics has long fascinated and engaged IRCAM, from the first synthetic voices (such as Farinelli's) to recent operas with electronics. This coexistence of the most natural medium: the voice, and the most artificial: the transformed voice, the voice cloning of the cultural industries, disturbs our perception and our identities.
On the program for this concert are two generations of composers: Kaija Saariaho, whose opera Innocence has made its mark on the opera scene, and Sivan Eldar, resident at the Villa Albertine in Los Angeles, soon to appear at the Aix-en-Provence Lyric Festival. Also a resident of Villa Albertine in New York and Boston, composer Roque Rivas proposes a vocal and sonic ramble through Manhattan, inspired by architect Rem Koolhaas' manifesto book, Delirious New York. As for Adrien Trybucki a member of the young generation of French composers, he has imagined a virtuoso labyrinth with Rapides Diaprés.
