New Sound Syntheses - A Fête de la Science Event

<p>IRCAM has always been at the forefront of research in synthesis and digital processing of musical sound. Many of technologies have been produced at IRCAM and are widely used, especially via sound signal models (in which the acoustic form of the sounds is recreated using signal processing) and physical models (by which the mechanical functioning of the structures in modelled and then digitally simulated). Today, research is more active than ever with the introduction of artificial intelligence and learning, new control interfaces, as well as connections with perception, space, and the formal composition of musical time.
