A newcomer in the world of academia (2015), the Institut Collegium Musicæ de Sorbonne Université brings together—in 10 internationally renowned research and educational organizations in the domain of music—researchers, teachers, musician-researchers, curators, engineers, and technicians specialized in musicology and ethnomusicology, acoustics, organology, computer science, with the main task of working in interdisciplinary cooperation.
Jean-Claude Risset, who passed away recently (1938-2016), was a pioneer in computer music. His research and creation work in the field of musical sciences and practices led to interactions among his work as a scientist, as a musician, as an analyst, and as a composer and heavily influenced interdisciplinary approaches to music.
