« "Luciano! Luciano! Luciano! Young as the revolution, still alive." A voice tears through the world, invoking the name of Chilean activist Luciano Cruz: the monumental epitaph rises, like a wave of strength and light. A rallying call, an injunction to listen and to wake up: this is the ethos of Luigi Nono's masterpiece, which was premiered by his friends Claudio Abbado and Maurizio Pollini. From the bemoaning of the vanished hero to the final flicker, in the certainty of his absence, Luciano has become the name of a moving collective uprising, and Nono, born a hundred years ago, the name of a tragic and committed art. Elzbieta Sikora, who in 2021 composed a work to accompany Nono's Diaro Polacco, intends to shake up the concert ritual with Sonosphère. This new version fuses lyricism and clamor, engaging orchestra and electronics. Commitment as resistance? As Nono reminded us, "resistance is not the use of revolutionary texts, but the development of autonomy and artistic novelty.” »
