ManiFeste marks the anniversary of Kaija Saariaho with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France. Château de l'âme is a musical continuum based on a variety of poetic sources, the India of the Vedas, and texts from Upper Egypt. The music weaves subtle links—structural or sonorous—with words, phonemes, prayers, spelling. Château de l'âme is a resonant space that will soon be inhabited by Saariaho's first opera, L'Amour de loin.

The idea of the north and the great symphony? Jesper Nordin adds his ongoing interest in the interaction between musical gesture and electronics to this cultural reality. At the premiere of Emerging from Currents and Waves, the conductor Esa Pekka Salonen faced a challenge that concerns Hannu Lintu today: to lead the musicians on stage and simultaneously an electronic orchestra, with specific gestures.

The idea of the north and solitude? The final Sibelius sinks into the bustling forest of Tapio, a wild and desolate world, the most beautiful of symphonic poems, shortly before Sibelius went into musical silence.
