Le Encantadas

Two years after its premiere in Donaueschingen, the major work by Olga Neuwirth continues its tour of Europe. Inspired by a short story by Herman Melville, Enchanted Islands, and even more by the adventure of Luigi Nono’s Prometeo premiered in Venice, Le Encantadas o le avventurenel mare dellemeraviglie carries the audience in the “recreated” acoustics of the San Lorenzo church in Venice, or to an imaginary lagoon. The 3D convolution carried out by IRCAM’s scientists transforms the concert hall into somewhere else.
