The Fast Forward Acceleration Day brings together key players in sound creation within the Cultural and Creative Industries to explore how AI can transform the professions of sound design and music production.
Open to artists, researchers, technology innovators, and sound professionals in cinema and music, this event aims to foster dialogue across disciplines.
The aim of this event is to create a network of resources and foster partnerships in the field of sound creation, to encourage the emergence of new sound technologies (research communities), based on an analysis of artistic needs and practices (professional communities). The goal is to rethink the current models that link ‘scientific research-technological transfer-artistic practice’ from top to bottom, with each part compartmentalized and the artist seen as a simple end-user. Our aim is to encourage the emergence of new, cross-disciplinary models of research and innovation that involve the artist from start to finish, so that research is oriented towards needs and uses, and not the other way round. This transformation is particularly necessary in the age of artificial intelligence, where both tools and creative uses are largely undefined and may ultimately contribute to the establishment of a new form of ‘soft power’ and French cultural and technological exceptionalism.
The day will also provide an opportunity to present and compare the points of view of the players in the CCI creative chain, and to put them into context as part of a wider reflection on the societal, ethical, and ecological implications of AI.
An AI Action Summit Event.
