Musical Italy has always found a second home at IRCAM, as seen in this concert at the Institut culturel italien. A new generation of composers, 30 years old, the generation of Mauzirio Azzan, Giulia Lorusso, and Emanuele Palumbo has gone through the Cursus program on computer music where it studied the marriage of instrumental artistry and electronics. The four works on this evening’s program use a piano "extended" by electronics or transductors.
