The fundamental principle of IRCAM is to encourage productive interaction among scientific research, technological developments, and contemporary music production. Since its establishment in 1977, this initiative has provided the foundation for the institute’s activities. One of the major issues is the importance of contributing to the renewal of musical expression through science and technology. Conversely, sp…

Festival ManiFeste 2023
Edit

Under the leadership of Taiwanese conductor Lin Liao, the ULYSSES ensemble brings together young European musicians to perform some of IRCAM's recent works with the soloists of the Ensemble Intercontemporain.

Assemblage by Roque Rivas is a piano concerto by a composer who is adept at montage and speed, generativity and musical proliferation based on copying, replication and micro-variation.

Enno Poppe's Speicher (attic, storage place) is one of the most striking cycles of today in its formal and instrumental virtuosity.

Finally, Sofia Avramidou's Géranomachie relies on the dramatization of poetic contrasts (sky-earth, animality-humanity) that become oppositions and confrontations of masses and intensities.
