I am a Colombian Postdoctoral researcher working with both Lund University in Sweden and IRCAM in France. I hold a Master of Engineering in digital technologies and multimedia from Polytech Nantes, a Master Science in acoustics, signal processing and computer science applied to sound from IRCAM, and a PhD in cognitive science from Sorbonne University.
I am interested in using audio signal processing techniques to understand how vocal features can unconsciously influence human behaviour. For instance, during my PhD, I studied the acoustic consequences of smiles heard in speech, and how such spectral cues can trigger unconscious facial imitation. This sheds light on how emotional facial expressions can be communicated acoustically, and processed cognitively.
Professionally, I am driven by finely controlled experimental setups, deep data-analysis pipelines, and theories of speech perception and social cognition. Personally, I am a sound enthusiast. I am a musician, a music producer, and owner of the electronic record label ARTR.
