French violinist and conductor born in 1983, Julien Leroy received honorable mention in the Tokyo International Conductor Competition in 2009. Since 2010, he has taught conducting at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Metz. From 2012 to 2015, he was the assistant conductor for Suzanna Mälkki and Matthias Pintscher in the Ensemble intercontemporain before making his debut at the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio-France. He was regularly invited to the Lucerne Festival and Pierre Boulez was one of his most fervent supporters. He is the guest conductor for the composition workshop for conducted ensemble.
