Lullaby experience
Lullaby Experience is a participatory project imagined by the composer Pascal Dusapin, open to all, children and adults, everywhere. Each of us has, deep inside, a melody that marked our childhood. Often, this nursery rhyme is deformed with time and memory. It is this memory, buried deep within us, that the composer has asked us to sing, to hum, online via the application Lullaby Experience. The recordings collected will provide the sound material used for a musical creation. Transformed and assembled with IRCAM technologies, the melodies create a singing map of the world. In Paris, just like in the other cities where the work will be presented, the songs sketch the sonic portrait of the city’s inhabitants. The collection of songs will reflect the demographics and multicultural reality of the town, or towns, where Lullaby Experience will be presented. In Frankfort, Lullaby Experience won’t sound like it will in Paris or Venice or Tokyo.
