A thousand administrative detainees are on a hunger strike. The Prime Minister of Israel decides to send them in toa deep sleep to divert the world’s attention. But the thousand sleepers give the Israeli people insomnia. As a consequence, it is urgent to send an emissary to the dream world… Via a dreamlike parable, the composer Adam Maor and the playwright Yonatan Levy, both Israeli, talk about a country torn in two, a multicultural society that its leaders imagine only like a irreconcilable mosaic. Their opera, premiering at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence before an international tour, is  imbued with a certitude: there is no country but the space between two souls.
