The ensemble Court-circuit brings together two generations of composers around the figure of Gilbert Amy; teacher, artistic director, and composer who studied under Messiaen and succeeded Pierre Boulez as the head of the Domaine musical. With Cors et cri—produced at IRCAM—Amy processes shadows of harmony acoustically and electroacoustically, introducing a "natural" element—untempered tuning—in a contemporary ensemble, as did Ligeti in his work Hamburgisches Konzert. A sentiment of fresh air and fanfare can be felt throughout the work.
