Les Pages & les Chantres, dont l’effectif vocal évoque celui de la Chapelle royale à la fin du règne de Louis XIV, rassemblent des enfants en classes à horaires aménagés et des adultes étudiants en formation professionnelle supérieure. Sous la direction de leur chef musical titulaire ou de chefs partenaires, ils consacrent une part essentielle de leurs concerts et enregistrements discographiques au répertoire musical français des XVIIe et XVIIIe siècles. En 2021, Fabien Armengaud, successeur d’Olivier Schneebeli à la direction de la Maîtrise, met en oeuvre de nouveaux projets avec Emmanuelle Haïm, cheffe en résidence, Arnaud Marzorati, Hervé Niquet, Ophélie Gaillard, Jean-Marc Aymes, Stéphane Fuget, Daniel Cuiller, Margaux Blanchard et Sylvain Sartre …. Ainsi, à travers l’enseignement du chant et la valorisation du patrimoine musical, Les Pages & les Chantres font revivre un mode de transmission unique : celui d’une véritable « troupe vocale ».
Les Pages & les Chantres du Centre de musique baroque de Versailles sont soutenus par le Ministère de la Culture, l’Etablissement public du château, du musée et du domaine national de Versailles, le Conseil régional d’Ile-de-France, la Ville de Versailles et le Cercle Rameau (cercle des mécènes particuliers et entreprises du CMBV). Le Centre de musique baroque de Versailles remercie chaleureusement agnès b. pour la création exclusive des nouveaux costumes des Pages, pour les Jeudis musicaux de la Chapelle royale et pour les grands concerts, et la maison agnès b., mécène de la Maîtrise.
