How can you create songs without a singer? Composer Zeynep Toraman imagines a synthetic, disembodied, and uncanny voice in dialogue with instrumental performance. How can the identity of instruments be altered? In Nun VI, Sarah Nemtsov exploits the ambiguity of electronic instrument-making to create a shift between intense immersion and minimalist spaces. How can one escape the standardized formats of musical creation? With Laub (“foliage”), Enno Poppe cultivates a veritable vegetal proliferation.
