Ligeti’s version of eternity is short and intense: Lux Aeterna is born, lives, and dissolves in under ten minutes, popularized by Stanley Kubrick in 2001: A Space Odyssey. Faced with this musical icon, Justé Janulyté imagines an electronic variation, gliding from afar to nearby. This evening opens beyond the concert hall, with the sounds of lullabies by women living on the margins of society; Claudia Jane Scroccaro creates her dramaturgy through space and voice. Kurtág achieves his own poetic language in striking vocal ellipses.
