Images of a Work Collection No. 6: "Les Temps tiraillés" by Myriam Gourfink and Georg Friedrich Haas
Les Temps tiraillés by Myriam Gourfink and Georg Friedrich Haas emerges from the meeting of a choreographic score and a work for two violas, bassoon, and electronics. The two creators explore slowness, stretching, and depth—both of the body and of sound. The music draws inspiration from the figure of the glissando, extended to the extreme; the dance, from an infinite slowing of movement.
The film documents the encounter between two affinities but also between two highly autonomous logics: the musicians interact with live electronic events, while the dancers respond to signs projected on screens forming a dome above them. A documentary written and directed by Martin Kaltenecker and Christian Bahier.
Co-production Ircam – Centre Pompidou. First Screening: January 21, 2009.
