Tacet, in a score, indicates that an instrument must remain silent. In this concerto by Stefano Gervasoni, the soloist guides the orchestra from enumeration to silent dissolution. Morton Feldman, often associated with sonic stillness, imagines a vast orchestra equipped with a sostenuto pedal, endlessly varying the chiaroscuro of the oriental carpet in his Coptic Light. Øyvind Torvund, meanwhile, combines psychedelic joy and Wagnerian epic in a ride caught in ice!
