Fado Errático orchestrates the murmurs of Lisbon, of the sea and the wind, the codification of saudade, the memory of Amália Rodrigues, and the voice of Cristina Branco. “The infinity of the West (the ocean) and the history of the East—whole Europe standing on Portugal’s back” (Gervasoni). Unsuk Chin, meanwhile, draws inspiration from Korean street theatre—a popular, amateur, and sentimental form of performance. The Ensemble ULYSSES also premieres a new work by the young French composer Anne Castex.
