Biography

Bengisu Önder (Cyprus, b. 1995) is a composer based in Paris whose work explores the relationships between artificial intelligence, musical creation, and human experience. Her mixed electroacoustic works have been presented on several occasions at the IRCAM Forum and at the ZKM Karlsruhe’s next_generation festival. She has collaborated with the ensemble Ascolta, Ensemble Linea, Anssi Karttunen, Steve Dann, and Lucy Shelton, and has participated in several academies, including the SWR Vokalensemble Akademie, the Diotima Quartet Academy, and the Royaumont Voix Nouvelles Academy.


She studied composition and computer music at the HMDK Stuttgart with Marco Stroppa and Piet Johan Meyer, before continuing her studies at the Cnsmdp in the composition class of Frédéric Durieux.


Since 2021, she has been a teaching assistant at the Electronic Music Studio (StEM) of the HMDK Stuttgart, where she is currently pursuing a Konzertexamen in Computer Music. Since September 2025, she has been composer-in-residence with the ensemble Court-circuit.
