Biography
Anne Castex (France, b. 1993) is a composer of instrumental, electroacoustic, and mixed music. After studying musicology at Toulouse – Jean-Jaurès University, she joined the Toulouse Conservatory in 2016, where she studied electroacoustic composition with Bertrand Dubedout. She continued her training at the CNSMD de Lyon with Michele Tadini, obtaining a DNSPM (National Higher Professional Diploma in Music) in mixed composition in 2022. She also furthered her studies with Martin Matalon and Aurélien Dumont, and obtained a Master's degree in instrumental composition in 2025.
Her music has been commissioned by Ensemble Multilatérale, Ina-GRM, Grame-CNCM, Ircam, Radio France, and the Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, and has been performed at venues and festivals including the Philharmonie de Paris, Maison de la Radio, Forum ByPass, and Festival Ensemble(s).
She is a laureate of the ManiFeste Academy (Ircam) and the Luxembourg Composition Academy, and participated in the Legato Academy, an international programme organised by Festival Ensemble(s). Alongside her compositional work, she is actively involved in music education and outreach through electroacoustic composition workshops developed in partnership with Grame.
