Open to the public, the library is a resource centre dedicated to contemporary music and to the sciences and technologies of music and sound. Comprising nearly 35,000 documents, its collection continues to grow in connection with the Institute’s musical programming and research activities.
The reading room offers on-site consultation and lending of books, scores, periodicals, theses, sound recordings, films, and programme notes. Online databases provide access to numerous musical and scientific resources.
Its services also extend online through Ressources, an encyclopaedic database devoted to contemporary composition, bringing together biographies, scores, concert and conference archives, scholarly and outreach articles, and a wide range of media. Together, they form IRCAM’s documentary centre.
