ASAP is a collection of audio plug-ins that allows creatively transforming sound. You are invited to play with the sound representation and the synthesis parameters to generate new sounds. The plug-ins can also be used to correct the defaults of the sound and to improve audio rendering. Thanks to the ARA2 integration, the spectral transformations are integrated into your editing workflow.
By the end of the training course, participants will be able to use ASAP sound transformation tools such as cross-synthesis, pitch transposition, time stretching, spectral filtering and spectral remixing. They will also be able to analyse and modify the frequency content of sounds in order to understand the underlying principles of spectral processing techniques and adjust parameters appropriately.
Some details of the training program are subject to modification as the software on which it is based evolves.

Graduate student
"The guidance is clear, the examples are helpful, and it's fantastic to work directly with the developer of the tools. I feel equipped to use these ASAP Tools for creative work. This was my first remote IRCAM course, and I could not have asked for a better experience!"
Student & Computer music researcher
"I loved that the skills gained from the ASAP training course could be directly applied to any musician's professional or amateur work. ARA2 plugins are indeed powerful, yet not talked about enough, and this course does a great job of introducing them to musicians and creators of all skill levels."
