Before Michelle Perrot, the history of France was populated by men. Thanks to her work, the women of the past and of the future exist. From Olympe de Gouges to the workingwomen of Les Halles, from Simone Veil to the seamstresses of the Sentier district, from Louise Michel to the brothels of Saint-Denis: La marche des femmes (The March of Women) is a walking journey undertaken by Michelle Perrot and a young woman, whom she leads through the sites of everyday history, and through women's struggles and ideas; it is also a pretext for confronting ideas.
