ManiFeste-2020: Cancellation in June and Rescheduling

Publish date

Dear spectators, partners, and friends,

Due to the current international health crisis and in keeping with the latest measures announced by the French President, we are unable to maintain ManiFeste-2020, both the festival and the academy, which was originally scheduled to take place from June 3 to 28.

The artists, partners, IRCAM teams, and all those who contribute to the organization and success of this major event for artistic creation are dealing with this intense, collective disappointment by rallying together to study possible alternatives so that we may postpone ManiFeste-2020 to a later date. We remain strongly committed to pursuing IRCAM’s mission related to creation and its transmission.

In practical terms, the teams are working on the possibility of postponing some of the festival events which would take place over a shorter time-frame from August 31 to September 13 in the Grande salle of the Centre Pompidou. We are also examining other periods during which we can perform the full program. As for the academy, for which we were expecting more than 120 young international composers and performers to come and train on a multidisciplinary stage, it has been cancelled for this year: the next edition will take place in June 2021.

These projects are naturally subject to changes that may arise in the current situation. However, today, during this unprecedented period, our teams are more active and inventive than ever, seeking solutions so that we can meet you on Parisian stages and share the richness and diversity of artistic creation with you.

We will keep you informed of our program for the new season as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing you soon. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
