The Ensemble intercontemporain and IRCAM celebrate the 70th birthday of Luca Francesconi, a prolific and multifaceted artist, much like his mentor Luciano Berio. Musical creation will be language or it will be nothing! This is evident in Etymo, weaving through a verse from Baudelaire’s Le Voyage. While Unexpected End of Formula looks toward Lachenmann, and Daedalus toward Pierre Boulez, Secousse-Action delivers a real punch for both performer and audience.
